Reflection- Letter 22
Here, Celie meets Shug Avery in person for the first time in her life. She wants to care for her after seeing her all sick and discombobulated. However, Shug's reaction to Celie was regarding her rugged appearance. It is unclear whether or not Celie is affected by Shug Avery's words, however it can be concluded that those were words Celie was used to hearing. This letter is also the first time readers see Mr. ____ actually attempting to care for someone who was not himself.

Journal Entry:
Today was much better! At the beginning of the day, I had allowed myself to be unfair and critical to myself. However, after I had allowed myself to be upset, I got myself together and faced circumstance like a young adult would. I'm proud of myself for having the courage to walk into work after a horrible day and fix everything that had been done incorrectly. Also, I worked on my solo more. I tried my best to look up different parallel meanings in the verses and also broadway performances of the song. I tried my best to convey the emotion of each line in a musical way also. What worked best, in my opinion, was tying my own personal feelings to the song itself. Whenever I did that, the song became more intimate and personal for all that heard it. I am excited to perfect this song! The song is absolutely beautiful and I am hoping that everyone at the program can feel exactly what the song requires people to feel. I really look forward to accurately conveying the raw emotion this song has.

Kamryn Barnes Mr. Rease AP Eng 11 19 November 2016        The novel, The Sorrow of War , was a novel about the struggles of  a Vietnamese soldier named Kien. The novel told stories of love and loss and how different people cope with the aftermath. The point of view constantly shifts and is sometimes incoherent. The novel is even so witty as to have been out of order just as Kien's attempt at a novel had been. This book was a controversial, however effective portrayal of the Vietnam War. It had exceeded beyond my initial expectations as a historical novel and as a work of fiction entirely.        My initial reaction to such a grim book was pure horror. There were many unpleasant scenes within the book that had been hard to read. However, although these events were indeed horrific and graphic, they were realistic and add substance to the book.      Technology does not distract students. Many online educational online videos such as Kahn Academy help students get the help that they need in certain classes. Students can receive help from the internet and score higher on tests because of technology. There are also certain programs like Remind that allows teachers to contact students via group message. This way students can receive personal help on at-home assignments and ask the teacher questions after instructional school time. Individuals may say that technology has too many social sites and new propaganda that can distract children. However, there are many time management apps that keep individuals locked out of social sites so that they can use their devices to further their personal education. Technology is a contribution to the advancement of more efficient teaching and learning.
