Letter 18- In this letter, Harpo finally marries Sofia and moves her and their children into a little shack on Old Mr. ____'s property. He is genuinely happy with Sofia, but the influence of Celie and Mr. ______'s relationship is inescapable. Sofia is a strong woman who is anything but servile and subdued. Mr. _____ does not like the equal gender roles in Sofia and Harpo's marriage. He lets Harpo know this as well.



Journal Entry:
Today was not all that pleasant. I went in to work sleepy and tired, unable to focus on the job at hand. This gets me in a bit of trouble with my managers and leads to me panicking. I don't really like panicking, considering I only mess up more because of the pressure to get things right. I hope eventually I'll be able to operate better under pressure. However, at the end of the day I understand I have to persevere and try my best to do better next time! A bad day does not define who I am as a person.

Kamryn Barnes Mr. Rease AP Eng 11 19 November 2016        The novel, The Sorrow of War , was a novel about the struggles of  a Vietnamese soldier named Kien. The novel told stories of love and loss and how different people cope with the aftermath. The point of view constantly shifts and is sometimes incoherent. The novel is even so witty as to have been out of order just as Kien's attempt at a novel had been. This book was a controversial, however effective portrayal of the Vietnam War. It had exceeded beyond my initial expectations as a historical novel and as a work of fiction entirely.        My initial reaction to such a grim book was pure horror. There were many unpleasant scenes within the book that had been hard to read. However, although these events were indeed horrific and graphic, they were realistic and add substance to the book.      Technology does not distract students. Many online educational online videos such as Kahn Academy help students get the help that they need in certain classes. Students can receive help from the internet and score higher on tests because of technology. There are also certain programs like Remind that allows teachers to contact students via group message. This way students can receive personal help on at-home assignments and ask the teacher questions after instructional school time. Individuals may say that technology has too many social sites and new propaganda that can distract children. However, there are many time management apps that keep individuals locked out of social sites so that they can use their devices to further their personal education. Technology is a contribution to the advancement of more efficient teaching and learning.
